Islamic Weekend School

PURSUE KWOLEDGE AND PRACTICE ISLAM

OUR MISSION & VISION

OUR MISSION

The mission of Seera Islamic Weekend School is to provide a healthy loving environment to build a strong Islamic foundation in the lives of our students through the study of the Arabic language, a comprehensive sound Islamic and Quranic education, and mutual respect and support for one another.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to ignite the love and intrinsic motivation within our students to learn the basics of their religion and promote generations of well-rounded Muslim Americans.

OUR GOALS

The Goal of Seera is to provide Islamic education to the Muslim Community in Baton Rouge area. Seera will presently operated by a body of volunteer parents, who perform the
faculty and administration functions. General instruction is given in English and Arabic by a highly
motivated team of professional instructors and volunteers. The School operates throughout the school year with a summer break, following the same schedule as the
East Baton Rouge County Public School System. Classes are held on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Zuhr Prayers
are then held in a group setting that includes children and parents, from 1:15 PM to 1:30 PM. The mission of Seera is to educate American Muslim children so that they develop into strong individuals who are
proud of, and confident in, their religion. We achieve our goal by providing our students with a strong background in the Quran and the Sunnah/Seera that they can draw on as adults. High school students attend seminar type classes, where current issues are raised and
discussed in the context of the Quran, Seera and Sunnah. Seera provides educational and other services including holding prayers, seminars, religious celebrations, and community service events.

Seera Non-Discrimination Policy:

Seera is open for enrollment to all people regardless or race, color, national origin, ethnic grouping and disability. Services are offered to students and families of diverse backgrounds, thereby fostering growth and development within the community at large.
